We wish to involve and benefit the local community as much as possible and to provide all attendees with an improved Carnival experience.
We are seeking individuals to work as part of a solid committed team, to provide the highest level of caring crowd control. Implementing planned management of specific sites and organised systems for the intention of delivering a safe and spectacular Notting Hill Carnival 2019
We are seeking candidates with SIA or NVQL2 in Spectator Safety. Alternatively, you must have at least one year's stewarding experience. If you are from the local community, we can provide free training.
We are committed to the training and employment of a large number of local residents as professional stewards. These stewards will provide Carnival attendees with the best local knowledge when in need of practical information in the form of directions or the recommendation of local amenities and facilities.
The stewards will be trained to an NVQ or SIA standard – recognised qualifications that will create future employment opportunities.
They will be strategically positioned throughout the Carnival area to engage with the public at entrance points and road closures, which will free up the police to use more resources to focus on the very important job of dealing with crime.
To qualify for free training you must be available for paid work for the two days of Notting Hill Carnival (August 25-26th 2019) and live in the following boroughs: Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, City of Westminster, Hammersmith and Fulham or Brent.
Places are limited - early application is recommended.

There are over 15k masqueraders on the parade route at NHC, and you are welcome to be one of them. With over 70 bands to choose from you are spoilt for choice. Most mas bands hold their launches in spring. A band launch is an event where you get to see the costumes modelled catwalk style. They are vibrant, energetic events that capture the Carnival vibes and are held mostly in London venues. We will be listing this year’s bands in the coming weeks. So keep an eye out for all the info and contact details you’ll need to enjoy jumping up on the road in 2019! In the meantime here is a link to some taking place in London this year
