“Passionate about Carnival, I’ve participated in Trinidad, Antigua, Miami, Rotterdam and Berlin carnivals, as well as within the UK. I feel strongly about the history, heritage and culture of Notting Hill Carnival, and that whilst it moves with the times it must also respect and acknowledge all that came before.

I hope we can nurture what we already have, and encourage it to continue to thrive and grow in positive directions. It’s clear to me that involving and educating children and young people is the only way to ensure a successful future.

We have a unique event here in London, with a strong base and elements from various different cultures adding their own touches.  Having lived in the Notting Hill area for most of my life, apart from some time in the Caribbean, I feel honoured to have the opportunity to represent those within the community who enjoy and value all that Carnival brings, not just to the local area, but also to broaden and deepen UK culture.”
