2022 Notting Hill Carnival Theme "Sonhar Não Custa Nada" (Dreams Cost Nothing) With Covid derailing Carnival for the last two years and no Arts Council funding for this year, we have had change our plans to make sure Carnival can go ahead this year. With no funding ACE and no financial assistance from the school possible to support our parade this year, we chose the theme "Sonhar Não Custa Nada" (Dreams Cost Nothing). The LSS was determined to do NHC this year and would not let getting no funding get in the way of Carnival. For our 2022 parade, the LSS will be doing a sustainable carnival by recycling from past years and dreaming big! Our parade is using 100% recycled materials and funded entirely by a modest registration fee. We have looked to our Madrinha (Godmother) samba school in Rio de Janeiro, Mocidade for inspsiration and have chosen a classic samba enredo (Carnival Song that describes our theme) from them: "Sonhar Não Custa Nada" - "Dreams Cost Nothing". It was this title that gave us the idea of putting on a big show with limited resources. Carnival is all about community and having fun parading - there is no way we would miss it this year, as Dreams Cost Nothing!
