Meanwhile Gardens

A four acre community run park established in 1976 and transformed from a derelict wasteland. This year Meanwhile Gardens was awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, this is the highest award given to UK volunteer groups. The QAVS is equivalent to the MBE. This prestigious award recognises exceptional work done by volunteer groups in their communities. This is wonderful recognition for Meanwhile Gardens and all the volunteers that works so hard in contributing towards its services in the community and in protecting a unique community green space.
