United Kreyol Mas (UKM) is the first mas band to celebrate and highlight the traditions and culture of the French Caribbean at Notting Hill Carnival. We emphasise the heritage of Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, and Haiti. Our band explores both the shared cultural ties with the British Caribbean islands and the unique elements that set French Caribbean culture apart. We feature key aspects of the culture, including music styles and dances like Zouk, Soca, Gwoka and Kompa, along with authentic and original costumes inspired by traditional attire, fabrics, and folklore from the French Antilles.
